In 2021, due to the government’s social distancing mandate and SOP, community engagement efforts were constrained throughout the pandemic. Despite the problems we have experienced, Focus Point have taken good initiative by giving complementary eye examination and providing more than 500 pairs of eyeglasses to children who require them. We have supported Vision Awareness Project 2021 organized by Lions Club of Penang Rising Star on March 2021 and more than 70 pairs of eyewear had been sponsored to the children in need of vision care.

We have also partnered with Lions Club of KL North region on a project “Student, We Care For You”, through this project, we have supported more than 430 students with an affordable pair of eyewear at only RM9.90 each pair. This project took place in Klang Valley from September to December 2021.

We also managed to visit SJK (T) LDG Coalfields to provide free vision screening and sponsored prescription glasses for children in need.

World Sight Day is held annually on every second Thursday of October. In collaboration with MalaysiaKini, the Marketing Manager was able to share some key messages about the current global eye health issues, Focus Point’s initiative to increase public awareness to #LoveYourEyes and more. We have registered optometrists to share with you some useful eye care tips too.

On top of that, we have collaborated with HOYA Vision Care Malaysia. For every purchase of a pair of HOYA ophthalmic lenses in October 2021, a pair of ophthalmic lenses was donated to school children in need. The sponsorship was provided to beneficiaries throughout December 2021 to March 2022, or earlier.
