Our humble beginnings in 1989
1st outlet in Muar, Johor
It all started with the opening of its first outlet in Muar back in 1989. It had neither comprehensive arrangement nor carried a wide range of products. However it knew what it wanted - FOCUS. One thing was certain; it marked the beginning and growth of one company that would one day lead the eyewear-retail industry in this country. Focus Point Vision Care Group's vision is that one day the company would become the leader in eye care products and this contributed significantly to the company’s success, growth and development.

To deal with the ever-growing expansion of the company, Focus Point Vision Care Group Sdn. Bhd. was established in Batu Pahat to provide management and operational support to our retail branches. Subsequently, our headquarter was relocated to its present location at Dataran Prima in Kuala Lumpur for better facilitation and support.

The management of Focus Point Vision Care Group believes in the distribution of wealth and opportunities for rising young entrepreneurs. We also believe that human resources are the most important asset in FPVCG, without whom, success would not have been within reach. Selfless hard work and unity through good and bad times have brought us to this triumphant stage. We formulated a Franchisee program to present them the opportunity to operate a franchise with the full support of the management. This offer was extended to fellow Focus Point staffs and the overall response was so overwhelming that 74 franchise outlets had opened in just within six years.

As a testament to the Franchisee program, FPVCG had won numerous awards, titles and recognitions, including the prestigious award for “Best Home Grown Franchise” in 2009. Since then, we are confident of brighter prospects ahead. Together with the world, we are embracing a knowledge-based economy where innovation and technology are essential in adding to our value, increasing our professional services and enhancing our overall competitiveness.

Presently, Focus Point Vision Care Group has established itself as a pioneer in the eyewear retail industry. In the span of twenty years our annual sales had grown to RM92 million. As we look forward to expanding our market, we need to take the initiative to create more demands for our products as well as increase the size of the global optical market. While we position eyewear products as fashion accessories, we must at the same time diversify our product range by updating technologies and further enhancing our professionalism in the industry. To cater for the demand of the market, in 2008 FPVCG launched a new line of eyewear under the new brand, Opulence, bringing in luxurious and sophisticated international eyewear brands; and Zania Optical which focuses on trendy eyewear.

Incorporated with a new store facelift, Focus Point opened its 100th outlet in 2008 and with this; there are now a total of 144 outlets throughout the country, with a prospect of extending it to 163 outlets by 2010. Focus Point is now readily prepared for new challenges as we step up our combined efforts; we are capable of providing eyewear users worldwide with top quality and highly innovative eyewear products and services.
